Pavia's Flood DISASTER

Donation protected
When I arrived on the scene...I could NOT believe my eyes!  The damage was incalculable.  I made my way through the carnage to find Mike, alone sitting in a filthy water soaked chair staring out into space.   He tried very hard to hold back the tears as I overheard him tell his wife Lisa, and his little girl Sophia that "you should stay in Florida for now because you have no place to live". To make matters worse, Lisa and Sophia were in Florida tending to Lisa's mother in a battle with cancer.  My heart sank.

I walked around the house and garage.  Water was up to 7 ft in the basement and almost 2 ft IN THE HOUSE. The place was a disaster area!  It appeared as a bomb went off and left behind a trail of mud and smelly water. I could NOT believe my eyes.  This was my assessment: furnace, hot water tank, washer, dryer and AC units...TRASHED.  Carpeting, hardwood floors, refridgerator, stove and EVERY wall in the house 24" up TRASHED.  Lisa's home office, content and equipment...TRASHED.  Clothing and shoes less than 2ft high...soaked with filth.  I think the most gut wrenching sight was little Sophia's bedroom and play room...TRASHED.  She cried herself to sleep that night because she knows all of her belongings are GONE.

It gets WORSE:
No Power.  No running water.  Both NEW vehicles...TRASHED.  Snowmobile and lawn equipment ...TRASHED.  Every tool in Mike's prized garage was under water.  As you may know, Mike is an incredibly talented mechanic.   He can fix or modify anything.  THIS MESS was NOT something he could fix!

His family needs your help! Why??
I was also there when his insurance company told him..."You are NOT covered...for anything".  He was in shock again.  He said..."What the **** am I gonna do...what am I gonna do".  I had no answers other than to reach out and ask for help.

It gets worse'r!
An army of friends and family arrived a day later.  Ready to begin cleaning up.  This was when some of the real losses emerged.   EVERY keepsake and item of sentimental value was TRASHED.  The list is too long to type.  To make matters worse...FEMA may or may NOT be of any help.

The "losses" are immense!
The financial damage is incalculable. These are GREAT folks.  I have known Mike and Lisa for over 20 years! Sophia is the sweetest little girl you could meet.  They do not deserve this heartache and they certainly did not earn it.

Together, we can provide the funds to get them back on their feet.  I can tell you with great confidence that  they will be humbled and appreciate our help tremendously AND use ever $.01 wisely...simply to make their home liveable and begin the healing process.
