Paulina's Trip to Cambodia

*for English, please scroll down!*¡Hola familia y amigos! Estoy tan contenta de compartir que fui aceptada a un programa para ir a Camboya, un país en Asia, con mi universidad. Cuando encontré el programa, sentí que fue creado para mí! De visitar aldeas en Siem Riep y entrevistar sobrevivientes del genocidio, a visitar el Tribunal del Khmer Rouge, (¡y visitar elefantes el último día!!!), me sentí tan emocionada que lo agregue a mi lista de sueños. Tal vez te preguntes, “¿Paulina, porqué te quieres tirar para esos montes?” ¡Haha! Pero como una estudiante de ciencias políticas, que espera estudiar derecho en el futuro, estoy segura que esta experiencia, donde aprenderé de los derechos humanos y la justicia transicional en un país post-genocidio, no sólo mejorará mis estudios, pero significativamente alterará la trayectoria de mi carrera.Por lo general, no recurriría a preguntarles a mis familiares y amigos por ayuda de esta manera, pero asistir a este viaje sería realmente un sueño hecho realidad. Sin embargo, es muy costoso y realísticamente, ¡necesito tu ayuda para cubrirlo! En total, necesito $5000 (los gastos están mostrados al final). I’m excited to share that I was accepted into a program to travel abroad for the upcoming winter semester! I’m a Political Science major and a couple of years ago I came across a program to visit Cambodia and was immediately drawn to it! From visiting villages in Siem Riep and interviewing genocide survivors, to visit Khmer Rouge Tribunal, (and visiting elephants on the last day!!!), I’m confident that learning first-hand about human rights and transitional justice in Post-Genocide Cambodia will not only enhance my studies, but will significantly alter the trajectory of my career, as I hope to pursue law school upon graduation. I usually wouldn’t resort to asking friends and family for help in this way, but attending this trip would truly be a dream come true. It is very costly and realistically, I need your help to cover it! In total, I need about $5000 (the expenses will be listed below). However, I am only running this campaign for $3500, as I intend to cover the rest with money I earn at my part-time job. To everyone who contributes, THANK YOU!
