Paula's Cancer Treatment Fund

Donation protected
My sister Paula was recently diagnosed with a very rare eye cancer, choroidal malignant melanoma. Only about 6 in one million people get this type of cancer.  Paula always said Mom told her to be different, so leave it to her to get a really rare form of cancer!

Her treatment involves 1 to 2 trips to Boston, Massachusetts, for proton B radiation. This involves placing clips in her eye and then a week later she will go to the hospital daily for 5-7 days for the radiation treatment.  This treatment is the best chance to preserve her vision. There are only two places where this treatment is an option, both are on opposite sides of the country.

She is scheduled to be in Boston to start the process in 2-3 weeks, so funds are needed immediately. Insurance will cover her medical costs, but she needs to pay for transportation to and from Boston at least once, a place to stay while there, meals, and other necessities for a long trip, as well as pay her regular monthly bills while she is away from home.

Paula always takes care of everyone. From being primary caregiver for our parents, to taking the best care of her patients in her job as a nurse, to being there for all her friends and family in about any way she is able. Now it's our turn to take care of Paula. If you can help her out with even just a small donation, every little bit adds up!

Thank you from Paula and our whole family for helping her get through this!
