Paula Templeton

On December 7, 2017 Paula was encouraged by her wonderful chiropractor, Dr. Andy Dixon to go to the emergency room after she arrived for an adjustment and seemed a bit "off" by his observation. Thank you Dr. Dixon!!! She was very weak on her left side and had fallen 3 times that day, complaining of severe headaches, her blood pressure was very high. We were prepared for the ER doctor to tell us she may be experiencing a stroke. But instead, they discovered a brain tumor that needed immediate removal.

On Saturday, December 9 Dr. John Spooner at St. Thomas West performed the intricate surgery. As our family waited in the waiting room for what we thought would be at least a 4 hour procedure, here comes Dr. Spooner walking into the waiting room to update us that just a couple of hours in the surgery is complete and the tumor has been removed. Praise Jesus! Dr. Spooner warned the family that we should be looking for signs of her personality to return as she wakes up from surgery as its possible irreperable damage may have been done during surgery. Well good work Dr. Spooner, the second we walked in to see our strong patient, she cracked a joke. Not to worry, she's here and she's not leaving us!

As she continued to recover over the next couple of days we faithfully awaited the pathology results to be presented. While the diagnosis was not good, we know that these fabulous doctors are presenting to us the information they have studied and believe to be medically true. As a family, we believe in a Grand Physician who takes precedent over all the others. While the tumor that HAS BEEN REMOVED was a Grade 4 Glioblastoma, the news we praise God for is that the doctors are confident they removed 99.9% of it!

Today she is so faithful, full of grace, she's strong and feels better than ever, working in a rehab facility on physical, occupational and speech therapies we are thankful we get to bring her home in time for Christmas. We have much to praise our Saviour for in the story He is writing through his daughter, Paula. But, the hard part will begin soon as she will endure preventive treatments to keep that cancer out. The tumor is gone and her fight is to keep it gone! It's not welcome back in her body. The oncologists are presenting a plan that will be very costly financially. As a family we don't know where the money will come from to pay for the bills already incurred and the steep ones to come. But, what we do know is God ALWAYS provides. Paula is not focused on her own need, her desire is to raise enough money to not only pay her own medical bills, but to pay for one other person's as well.  She always wants to help others in need, even when she's the one that needs it most.

We created this to share her story and to ask for the #1 thing she needs - which is PRAYER. Please stand with us in Faith for her complete and total healing to live a long cancer free life. Paula is only 57 and has 7 grandbabies under 7 years old that have a lot of life left to live with their Nonnie. If you feel so inclined to go beyond prayer,  we are hopeful to raise funds to help Paula with these unexpected medical bills that will continue to come along as she's kicking cancers butt!
