Paul's Internal Stimulator

Hello Family and Friends.  Many of you have been asking and wanting us to set this up so that you could help. We have been blessed with the out pour of help, blessings, prayers and support thus far and now we are on the last leg to make this procedure a reality.

For those of you who do not know my husband Paul, let me tell you a little about him. When he was an infant he contracted the Polio virus. However this did not stop him. He was very active in a variety of sport activities. He enjoyed rock climbing, bull riding, basketball, softball and Sunday football with family and friends. This disease did not stop him in his personal life or his career. He was a plumbers helper, EMT, life coach for people with developmental disabilities, Anesthesia Tech, jailer and ended his career as a Peace Officer for the State Texas .  When this diseased forced him to quit working he did not give up. He became very active in lives of our children and the church.  His activities at church started off as greeting guest in the morning. This quickly advanced to assisting with church security and parking lot security. He was also asked to lead the volunteer groups on Wednesday who would come in to assist with the children and teens to ensure their safety.

Over a year ago Paul's back started giving him problems. When he went to the doctor they told him that he had a twisted spine because of the way he walked for years. They tried giving him steroid injections, physical therapy and medication.  With no success he was referred to Lubbock Spine Institute in Lubbock.  They also tried different injections and medication. Once again no success. In the mean time Paul's quality of life was dependent on total bed rest. The only time Paul was able to leave his bed was when he forced himself to attend church.  Many times he became very discourage but he held strong to his faith.

During one of Paul's visit with the doctor we were introduced to a procedure called a Spinal Cord Stimulator. After much praying and blessings Paul was approved for the test trial. On March 5th he went in to have the trial placed. This would be the his last hope for success. I am happy to say that Paul was blessed with a successful trial. Thank You God for your blessing.  The next step is having the permanent stimulator implanted. This procedure is a costly procedure. Our part of the co-pay is $7000.  We were blessed by not having to provide a co-pay up front for the test which was $2000, thus the reason for this go fund me page.  Since the test procedure Paul has been able to walk down the hallway in our house, wash dishes, have dinner back at he table with his family,  go and pick up his daughter from school, go for a walk with his family, go to the store , out to eat and attend church with no pain. It's all the small thing we take advantage of.  Myself and the kids feel so blessed that the test was a success. Now we ask that this become a permanent solution. We want to thank all those who have supported us thus far and for those who will be donating to this page. I know with God all things are possible.
