Paul Weaver

Meet Paul Weaver. He is a devoted father and husband, a successful small business owner, and has always been a healthy guy. Until now. Paul has been diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer.

For months he had been seeing a doctor about neck pain. The pain kept getting worse, but they would only treat him for the symptoms. Finally, Paul insisted on further testing in the emergency room and that’s when they discovered the tumor. It’s massive. Paul can no longer swallow solid food and has to receive nutrition through a feeding tube.

Naturally, his family is beside themselves, especially the kids. Paul’s 12-year-old son isn’t used to seeing the dad who taught him to play baseball being confined to a bed for most of the day. His 4-year-old daughter struggles to understand what is happening. Shellie, his wife of 20 years, is doing all she can to keep everybody sane.

Paul is already undergoing treatment, both aggressive radiation and chemo. The side effects are extreme. Between the illness and the side effects, Paul is unable to work, indefinitely. As both sole proprietor and his business’s sole employee, no work means no income. The medical costs are mounting every second and his family’s day-to-day expenses aren’t going anywhere.

Paul is a proud man from a proud family. None of us want to ask for help, much less go online to do it.
