Hello friends, family, and kind strangers, My name is Paul, and asking for help is not easy for me, but this past year has pushed me to my limits.
In September 2022, I lost my younger brother Joshua. After that, I relocated to West Virginia and slowly started rebuilding my life. By the time I was finally back to working and earning, a close friend of mine was being kicked out of his home. With nowhere else for him to go, I opened my door because that’s the kind of person I’ve always tried to be, but it has come at a heavy cost.
For the past nine months, I’ve been covering nearly everything myself: rent, utilities, food, and daily expenses. I’ve been working and Door Dashing just to keep up, but it hasn’t been enough. I live my life by my faith in Jesus Christ, loving and caring for the people God places in my life, but right now I’m exhausted and stretched thin.
At this point, I’m several months behind on my car payment, loans, credit cards, and utilities. I’m hoping to raise $8,500 to catch up on my bills, cover basic necessities, and build a small cushion so that when my lease ends in December, I can finally breathe again and begin the next chapter of my life with a clear head and a steady footing.
This has been an incredibly humbling season for me. Six years ago, I was proud to buy my first condo. To go from that to where I am now has been hard, but it’s also reminded me how quickly life can change, and how much we need each other in those moments.
If you are able to give, it would mean the world to me. If you cannot, even sharing this message helps more than you know. Your kindness in any form is a blessing.
With love and gratitude,
Paul
