Paul Smith Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
Paul Edward Smith, 55, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at his home Thursday, January 25, 2018. Paul was born August 17, 1962 in Cleveland and made his home primarily in Elyria, except for a short time in the Naples, Florida area.

He served in the United States Navy. Paul worked as a mechanic and a tattoo artist. He enjoyed yard work, cooking, the Cleveland Browns and was an artist and a creative writer. He also enjoyed searching stream beds and shorelines for artifacts that he collected. He had a special bond with his dog, Marley.

He is survived by three children, Ryan (Elizabeth) of Elyria, Randy (Nikki) of Elyria and Amber (Hazem) of Lakewood; grandchildren, Cody, Deja and Angelina; siblings, Mark of Elyria and Michelle (Brian) Walsh of Westlake; his parents, Ken and Rose (nee Diederich) Smith of Elyria and his birth mother, Jackie Murton, also survives.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2 to 4 P.M. Funeral services will be Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11 A.M. The Reverend Father Frank Kosem will officiate. The VFW Post 1079 will provide full Military Services.

Paul was a cherished family member and had so many friends.   He was a humble person who cared about everyone he knew.   And, he loved putting a smile on people's faces.

Paul was a man with a huge heart and so many people loved him.

I don’t know if many of his family and friends knew he was on disability benefits and he lived off the meager amount of money he received each month.  He had no savings nor life insurance.

So, his immediate family has come together to pay for his funeral.  A kind of funeral that he would want.

The expense of his funeral is pinching everyone’s savings accounts.

It is so hard to ask, however, would you be willing to donate to this fund that I, Paul’s Sister, have set up to help defray the cost of his funeral?

Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

May the special memories of Paul that you hold in your hearts bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Michelle Smith-Walsh
