Paul Schmidt's farewell

Sadly on Thursday the 29th of June 2017 Paul Schmidt a beloved Father, Brother, Poppy and Friend passed away in his sleep at his home in Broome. My dad was such an amazing poppy to my 3 kids they would video call him and use the funny filters on their faces making poppy laugh and he would always say " soooo... how's your day" and "blackboard says urry up" - from mr squiggle. My family would like to thank everyone for their condolences and offers for support and help it means the world to us to learn how he touched so many lives. Unfortunately we have come to learn that dad did not have a funeral plan or a will so we are trying our hardest to come up with the funds for his funeral and with dads life being in broome and his family spread out in perth and interstate it is making it alot more difficult, after having alot of conversations with people in the community of broome that worked and volunteered with dad and were also friends with dad we have made the decision to have a ceremony in Broome where dad called home and was loved by many. Dad wanted to be cremated and to fly into the wind off his motorbike we will have a ceremony and cremation in perth as unfortunately this service is not offered in Broome, then fly to Broome to give dad his last wish and have a send off he would have wanted surrounded by people he loved and who loved him and be in a place he called home. Any funds that are not needed to cover funeral and airfares will be donated to St johns Ambulance where dad volunteered / Broome Hospital where dad worked.
