Paul has been working part-time for me for close to 30years. He is a single, disabled man of 66 years.

He recently had a number of mishaps that have left him broke. He lives in city housing. Someone claimed he hit their car with his, although there were no marks on either car and he wasn't even in the car at the time because his car was suffering engine failure. The police looked and said there was no accident. However, this misguided person called Paul's insurance company and filed a claim. Paul canceled his insurance and went with another insurer. His insurance company continued to take money from him, causing his bank account to bounce with his rent check. With the snowstorms and a broken-down car, my employees and I are taking turns driving Paul to work. While his car is stuck on the side of the road, he has gotten 2 tickets for $150 each. He can't pay his phone bills, so he has no way of communicating. The State Insurance Commission looked into his insurance issue and his insurance co has sent him a $250 refund. I had his car towed to the garage where I have been going for 20 years and they found the engine was not salvageable. Since Paul still owes a lot to the bank for the car he has no choice but to replace the engine. $4-5 thousand is what it will cost. Paul is a good, hard-working person and doesn't complain about his circumstances. He could surely use a little help right about now.
