Paul Miller's Hyperbaric Fund

Starting this campaign for my pops to help buy a hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber for my parents home.  We have found it to be the most significant recovery tool in the last 6 months for reducing seizures & aiding healing. Their practitioner (that had the chamber) just moved to a new place outside the state line which is too far away for weekly visits and having it daily would be amazing for his brain & body.  (Read below for the whole story & heart behind this campaign)

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Having my parents live with us for a few months this past Fall/Winter re-opened my eyes to the daily toll my Dad's sickness brings to him & my mama. And the last few months were no exception. I was used to the midnight calls to come out to Hangman Hills and be there to help make decisions or take him to the ER. I was used to going out for a few hours a day or week and helping when things were bad. I was used to phone calls when my Mom just needed to pray, laugh or just talk it all out together. But sitting on the edge of the bed everyday and every night watching him have seizure after seizure, day after day was hard on my heart. There were many days where my Mom would need to work...so I'd just sit with him.

He'd be in and out of sleep or seizures and I would just sit there.

Sit and pray.

Prayers of thankfulness that I still had him with me, prayers begging for healing, prayers of anger in the why's, and prayers of joy when God's presence would show Himself oh so clearly.

I can say with certainty that the hyperbaric chamber helped bring us out of that last stint of seizures & hopelessness. There are so many things that we can't rely on to get them to stop or to get his brain to work correctly...but whenever he'd go to those appointments, we would see immediate improvement. Now, I know none of you need convincing...you're all in this with us. For that, we are so stinking grateful. We literally wouldn't be standing upright without you. But I thought you may want to know how we (or at least I) feel about it & how it's affected his body from our perspective.

As you may know, my parents don't love asking for more help. 6 years is a long time to ask. And to be honest, I've been wrestling with this myself. But today after hearing from a lot of you, I came to this conclusion...

That's stupid.

You have already poured so much love, food, time, money, prayers, tears & much more into this family. I know even if we tried to stop you...those things wouldn't cease. So for those of you who feel like they can or want to help, the goal is 13k (but the overall goal here on GoFund me may lower because of outside donations - I will adjust as money comes in). This would cover the chamber, concentrator, oxygen, compressor and all misc equipment. We are also looking into whether their insurance covers any small part of it. I'll lower the goal if that's the case.

So there you go! Thank you for all your texts & emails today caring at the deepest levels. Our family is so much bigger than just us. I am constantly humbled by you all.
