Paul Lambrecht. Lumpy. Coach. Husband. (most importantly) Dad.
As many of you know, four years ago Paul was diagnosed with rectal cancer. Since that time, it has been one hill to climb after another for him and his family. Though, through it they have stayed positive, strong, and the type of people we should all aspire to be.
Since being diagnosed Paul has gone through many cancer treatments and surgeries. After battling rectal cancer, it spread to lung and heart tumors which required surgery, chemo, and radiation that made him very sick.
Through it all he stayed positive and even became the head coach for Bloomington Jefferson Girls' Basketball after so many successful years of being Jordan MN Head Girls' Basketball Coach.
Finally! Things were all looking up! He was given the "you're looking pretty good, Lumpy" notice earlier in the summer of 2018 after a full body scan MRI.
But only a couple of weeks later, he would be brought down by bouts of dizzying vertigo - so much so that he could not stand. Emily brought him again to the doctors and they did another MRI. With their ever-hopeful spirits that it was only something from the medications they were ready to go home with good news.
Unfortunately, no.
Paul was informed in early August 2018 that he had an aggressive form of brain cancer and had about 3 weeks to 3 months to live. You will not see this on his timeline on Facebook as Emily has not had the heart to share it. He is resting peacefully at their home. The family can no longer receive visitors at the house, as Paul is too ill. So well wishes in the form of cards are welcome, but visits are just too much now.
In closing, we are asking for your support in helping to relieve some of the burden that this family has endured. As you can imagine, losing a loved one is hard, our hope is that we can all pull together to help soften the load that Emily and the children will endure in the coming months/years. Any contribution you can make, be it prayer or financial, is greatly appreciated and a blessing.
