I'm Mike Spence, and I started this page with my sister Joanie. We both live in Virginia. A couple of weeks ago, the local sherrif knocked on our sister Patty Spence's door and informed her that everyone in her subdivision had no choice but to evacuate their homes in Beaumont, Texas, which is about 90 miles east of Houston. She was only given a few hours' notice, so she packed up a few of her belongings, as well as her two dogs (Black Lab 'Sage' and Chihuahua 'Baby') as well as her three cats "Princess Bobo", "Love Bug", and "Bugsy".
Since the hurricane hit, FEMA has helped by providing a hotel room as shelter,. The interior of her hone has been destroyed as well as all of her possessions. Many of Patty's friends and relatives helped remove her destroyed possessions and tore down the mold laden walls from her house. The picture above is one of the rooms in Patty's home as of September 10.
Joanie and I are sharing this page as a way to provide Patty's friends and family a way to help her out during this challenging time. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated and the funds will be given directly to Patty to help with all of the costs associated with property lost from the hurricane. Thank you!
