Patti Manness Woolfork Memorial

Some of you knew Patti as Mom, Grandma, or even Patti Lynn.  Regardless what she was known by, we all know she was a pretty amazing lady.

Patti was unbelievably compassionate. Her heart and her generosity knew no bounds. Her door was always open for family and friends alike, literally. You could just arrive and people often did. Neighbors, friends, immediate family and relatives all knew they had a place to stay for a few minutes, a few hours or even for a few months to enjoy her hospitality, generosity, and even her tanning bed. The door was always open and the snacks always plentiful.

Moreover, she donated much of her time to others. Watching her Grandchildren, jumping to action when others were sick or needy, or just lending a helping hand. She loved to give her time and her focus to others and even when it was unfeasible for her, was always willing to give just a little bit more. She was the definition of selfless.

Patti was fun! Her Children and Grandchildren loved to go and visit her because they always had a good time. She loved to play games, or try to understand HOW to play them, which was just as fun as playing with her.

Now some of you would say that Patti was strong. Others might refer to her as determined, and *some* may even go as far as “stubborn." (Just know better than to refer to her as that!) Strong she was. If she had a viewpoint and a perspective on a given topic, nothing you could do or say would alter that. She would budge but only when she was good and ready, and on her terms. It was this trait that also aided with her ongoing fight with cancer.

Patti survived her a round of cervical cancer in 2014. Through treatment and sure will she was able to beat it back and enjoy more years to come. As time marched on things started to relapse. Whatever remnants of her previous fight spread and mutated into a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Carcinosarcoma. As the signs and symptoms returned, none of us were the wiser because of her warrior spirit and selflessness, still putting everyone before her, so in her mind, as not to be wasting our time with concerns for her.

Continuing on this path ultimately lead to her untimely departure. Even when almost being rendered immobile by pain, she still tried to press forward. On December 26th, 2017 Patti finally succumbed to cancer. The outpouring and response from her family and friends was impressive to say the least, and when she smiled and closed her eyes for the last time, she was surrounded by those she loved the most.

We love you Patti. Saying you will be missed is an understatement.

Patti unfortunately did not have any medical insurance when her cancer re-appeared. Part of that was due to battling it prior and not being able to afford the rates it would have taken to keep her insured once being identified as "high-risk." Fortunately she was still able to be admitted to a hospital and received care until she passed, but these costs incurred will have to be paid out of pocket by her family.

It's because of this, and her aforementioned selflessness that we are reaching out to anyone who would be willing to donate towards reducing these costs, or to ask that if you'd like to give a gift as a memorial, that it be a donation towards this debt.

Medical and funeral costs included have already reached in excess of $60,000; in which we have set as the Go Fund Me goal.

Any amount donated is greatly appreciated, and we as her family, could not thank you enough for understanding and lending a helping hand; paying it forward to Patti as she always did for everyone else.

Thank you again, and please help us spread the word as we work to achieve our goal set.

Love,
