Kiptulwo School: Pat's Classroom

Donation protected
Pat Brady, on turning 70:

As this is a rather big birthday, I thought I'd do something worthwhile, rather than just throw a shindig and reminisce about our youth, "that was a lot of money in those days", etc.

As I've become more involved with the Rotary Club in Newbridge, and seeing the incredible difference that we can make to others in our communities and those communities far away, I have set up a goal to raise funds for the Kiptulwo School Project, outside Sotik, Kenya, in a very rural area.

Currently, the school is serving more than 500 students in this community, from a bare shell of a building, and with no access to running water or hygiene facilities. The water project is underway (delivering running water and toilet facilities, as well as hygiene education), but what I'd love to support is the kitting out of a classroom with the things they need to make a better learning experience and environment.

Blackboards, desks and chairs, school books, paper and pencils, educational posters and all of the paraphernalia of a normal classroom... (we might call it Pat's Classroom!)

We can make this a reality! Together, we could inspire the next Hawking, the next Brontë, the next Gates... we can help these kids realise their potential through the incredible opportunity of education.

Please support this GoFundMe Campaign with whatever you can. We've applied for matching funding from Rotary International, and will update you when/if we've secured this.
