The Road to PyeongChang 2018 Paralympics in South Korea!
My name is Patrick Jensen! I am a Visually Impaired Alpine Ski Racer for Australia, I have grown up in Newcastle, enjoying the surf and music scene, I love the outdoors and enjoys sports. In 2014 I was invited to a talent Identification camp in Perisher. The Paralympic scouts identified a natural talent and I was invited to join the team in Austria, where the world of ski racing would be abruptly introduced into my life! I had absolutely no idea what I was getting in to, second hand equipment, a guide to ski in front of me, who I had never met and a whole lot of determination. I got straight into it, raced 3 weeks after my arrival and found my new love for life!
Since that first race in Austria, I have scored podium places in Europa cups, National Championships and numerous medals, I also competed in the 2017 World Para-Alpine Championships in Tarvisio. Italy is where I scored my personal best race points, and had the honour of being selected as the flag bearer at the Closing ceremony for the Championships.
Now the time has come and the lead up to the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics has begun, the past 3 years has been an incredibly challenging, yet insainly rewarding collection of experiences!
Now I need your support to move forward and reach my dream goal of skiing in the Paralympics!
