I’m starting a much-needed campaign to help my dear friend Patrick Diver (aka “Pat”). Pat had open-heart surgery on November 17, 2017 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa to replace his mitral valve. Due to complications in recovery, he required a second open-heart surgery two weeks later. He was then transferred to Integris Heart Hospital at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was put on the only ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) machine in the state of Oklahoma for adults. He remains hospitalized in ICU but is slowly improving.
It is hard for me to imagine all that Patrick has been through. Patrick is the main provider for his family and he and his wife, Debbie, still have a long recovery ahead to get him back home. Even with health insurance, the amount of money they will owe for multiple surgeries, plus weeks of intensive care and hospitalization, will be staggering.
All donations will go to his medical bills and some family living expenses until he can return to work. Your donation to this campaign will do a world of good for Pat and Debbie.
Patrick is truly one of the world’s greatest guys. He is a very caring and warm person. He is devoted to his family and friends, to long hikes in the Ozarks, to playing / refereeing / watching / and arguing about soccer, and to the music of John Coltrane and too many other musicians to even mention. Patrick is also a loving grandfather to Nathan, Natalynn, Ashlyn and Taegen.
Let’s support him in his mission to get well and back on his feet, to return to their “3D Acres” homestead in Madison County, Arkansas, and to get back to his highly skilled work.
