Patrick Fitzgerald Memorial Fund

Donation protected
On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, Patrick ‘Pat’ Taylor Fitzgerald, 29, devoted and loving husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and coach went to be with his Lord and Savior after a sudden illness. This fundraiser is for memorial donations to defray funeral and medical costs.

Pat was born on March 22, 1989 in Champaign, Illinois, a son to Richard and Sandy Miller Fitzgerald. He married Melody Engelbrecht Fitzgerald on May 28, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington where I was privileged to stand with them as maid of honor.

Surviving is his wife, Melody Fitzgerald; his mother, Sandy Fitzgerald; sister, Shannon (Casey) Fitzgerald of Champaign; brother, Seth (Denise) Fitzgerald of Tolono; maternal grandparents, Oris and Mary Miller of Farmer City and paternal grandfather, Jim Fitzgerald.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; paternal grandmother, Priscilla Fitzgerald and two close friends, Trent Silver and Jamie Ping.

Pat was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University in 2017 and spent his life serving adults and children with disabilities. He was most proud of the work he did at Our Place in Wilmette, Illinois.

We will miss most the joy he brought to all around him, his laugh, and most of all his caring heart. He truly was a light from God, who touched so many lives during his short time on earth. He had the ability to easily make a friend wherever he went.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with friends and family, bowling, playing his Xbox and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini.

Pat will forever be in our hearts.
