Patricia Campbell Allen was a long time resident of Maynardville, where she moved to be close to family. As a child Patricia lived on land her family had moved to in the Big Ridge area, after being displaced from Loyston. As an adult she came back to her roots, and with her she brought her two children and settled here in her family hometown until she passed on January 1st of 2024.

Patricia chose a life of service working within the school system in various roles. Most people would remember her by Ms. Pat, the name her “kids” had given her during her 20 plus years as Bus driver of Bus #28 among others. Her love of working with Special Needs children, and her relationship as a care giver for a special needs child, led her to begin work at Maynardville Elementary school as a Paraprofessional working with Special Needs children. During her 20 plus years with Union County she worked at various schools throughout the county, helping to further the lives of Special needs children of the community. Ms.Pat retired from Union County Public Schools in 2014. She continued to drive Bus #28 until 2019; when she received a diagnosis of Breast Cancer.

The next few years would be a long, extensive, battle with Breast cancer. She began this with surgery to remove the mass, then she began her Chemoradiotherapy. Beginning chemo in September 2019, which she continued through 2020. When Ms. Pat was to begin the radiation part of her chemoradiotherapy on April 1st of 2021,on the very day, she had a fall that shattered her hip. The break resulted in a steel rod being placed. She was inpatient therapy for one month and her radiation was delayed. In the summer of 2021 her Radiation began. She finished radiation but continued to have infusions to treat the after effects of radiation and chemo therapy. Her battle with cancer was not over. In June, after falling ill, she received a diagnosis of Myloedysplastic Syndrome a pre leukemia, a rare form of cancer that can be caused by cancer treatment. Ms. Pat continued treatment until she passed. Her battle with Cancer was a hard fight filled with ups and downs, including Covid and a broken hip, and yet she was still doing the things people knew her best for, like making her infamous Blackberry jam with berries handpicked by her daughter. You knew you were loved if you had a jar of that in your fridge after Christmas.

Ms. Pat enjoyed reading, family vacations on the beach, camping in the mountains with her daughter Amanda, watching and attending UT Football games with her son Jonathan, spending time with her grandson Lincoln and her granddaughter Tori. Over the last few years her children and her granddaughter have been her rock. They have transported her to and from care and all have taken turns living with her and providing her needed live in care and assistance. Though Ms.Pats prognosis was severe, her treatment to prolong her time was successful to this point and Ms Pat's passing was sudden and not expected at this time.

Ms. Pat had no Life insurance, investments or assets, and with that no End of Life plans. She expressed her wants for her End of Life plans but had made no arrangements for such. We do know that Ms. Pat wanted to lay to rest with her other family members at Macedonia Baptist Church of New Loyston, Tennessee in Union County.

We are asking for donations to help cover funeral arrangements for Ms Pat, and be able to follow through with her End of Life wishes, as well as to help support her family through this difficult time as they navigate through the trying days ahead.

We truely appreciate anything donated, as anything is more than what is had now. The smallest bit can make the biggest difference and the family thanks anyone for any kindness shown.

Thank you and may life bless you

All arrangements are being handled by Trinity Funeral Home in Maynardville Tennessee. Service is to be announced.
