Keep SF Black and Queer

Partial Video Transcript:

Hey Everyone, first and foremost, I'd like to thank you for all the contributions to my previous crowdfunding campaign. Although I did not reach the goal, it was successful, and I am still using those funds to thrive; though whatever you donated might not seem like much, it got me through 2 moves, 3 months of living expenses, and I still have funds remaining. To say that I would not be here without this support would be an understatement. Anyhow! Since my last update, I’ve celebrated 5 months sober, moved out of an unsafe house of neoliberal gentrifiers into a temporary space with friends while my partner and I search for a 2bd under $2100 in SF Daly City or the Peninsula as Bay Area rents drop. I've begun ramping up my Judaica studies. Released a booklist for Two Spirits interested in learning our history. I've been able to be closer to my family as they do their best to stay safe. I've also started a part-time job working with RADAR Productions, am publishing a chapbook with Nomadic Press, contributing to a young adult fiction anthology, and coediting an anthology. If this weren't keeping my busy, I am currently on track to become a trained astrologer, medical intuitive, medium, and pet psychic, and I've done all of this despite being unwell since late April.

Honestly, your support has helped me stay fed, housed, and grounded, so I’d like to express my gratitude for all who donated or shared. Now, if you are here, you are a friend, accomplice, or coworker of mine who is committed to interdependence and showing up for queer black and indigenous San Franciscans, which is exactly who I am.

For those who dont know me yet….I'm a Black and Indigenous, former foster youth, low income and disabled multidisciplinary creator born in San Francisco's Mission District, then raised [and displaced] from the historic Fillmore. My art, community work, and political organizing blend futurism, resilience, and calls to action with cultural competency training, public health consulting work, youth advocacy, elder care, research, and divining the past, present, and future marginalized folks through performance. I am reviving this fundraiser to continue to access a living space, meal prep, much-needed healthcare, education, and wellness services. Furthermore, based on my exposure throughout March and April ongoing symptoms, it is likely I contracted a virus in late April, which acts a lot like the one currently roaming the globe; because of this, I now have additional needs that we need to finance since because of whatever illness I contracted I need a bedside commode, assistance with meal prep, several monthly medications, and to continue with my medical intuition, mediumship, and orixa song training.

"The truth is, growing up brave, bold, two-spirit and Black (in San Francisco) is one of the rarest things to do, and I need your help to do it”
Despite the halting of the Arts, Archives, and Nightlife industries, I relied on, I’ve remained hopeful my community will continue to support my work until we birth this new reality and figure out a post-COVID bay area
