Southover School’s 2024 Patina Moving On Parade Fund
Hello friends, families and businesses,
Who are we?
We are a group of parents aiming to raise money for our Year 6 children at Southover School, Lewes, to take part in the Patina Moving On Parade.
What are Patina and Moving On?
Patina (patinalewes.com) is a charity that gets children working with local artists. Its flagship event, the Moving On Parade, takes place in July and marks the transition of primary school pupils to secondary school. In this exciting and colourful event, children parade through the streets of Lewes wearing the 3D carnival costumes they have helped design and make. The local community supports the parade, clapping and cheering them on their way every year. Many local schools now join in this annual procession, which culminates in a community party. Why are we raising money? Overall, we need to raise £2,000 to pay for every child in Year 6 to take part in Moving On.
Our children will participate in carnival workshops and create stunning sculptures and costumes to parade in. The money will also pay for their end-of-year celebration hoodies and T-shirts and the post-parade party.
How can you help?
• Donate directly to this page. • Share the link with friends and family. • Create an individual fundraiser for Patina, and use this link to collect sponsorship and donations.
For example, you can hold a bake sale, make jewellery or wash cars. We need your help to reach our target and gratefully appreciate all donations, however large or small.
Thank you!
