Hello there all friends, collegues and family,
We are so sad to share the news of the passing of Pat Gallaher on Friday, February 6th at Lions Gate Hospital.
Pat's sudden and unexpected death has left his family in shock and they were not prepared to deal with these sudden emotions of loss and sadness. However, they are all coming together as a family to support one another in any way they can. It is a difficult time in their lives and the heaviness in their hearts is visible even when they are trying to be strong for everyone else.
Because the Gallaher’s have been such a big part of the community and of our lives, I am asking you to join me in supporting them through this time by helping to contribute towards the unexpected expenses which the family is now dealing with in relation to Pat's passing. Pat’s departure from this life was so fast and the family was not prepared for all the expenses that are coming at them, in addition to the past expenses of Parkinsons. I feel that offering some assistance to them at this time would be honouring the man - Pat Gallaher’s friendship, mentorship, coaching and community.
The family is also setting up a fund to help launch the careers of future "basketball stars" in the community. Pat has coached basketball at Cleveland Elementary since his daughter, Mischa, joined the team in grade 4, 24 years ago. He has made it possible for children who otherwise may not have played, to enjoy learning and playing the sport of basketball. It was one of his passions.

If you are able to assist them at all, it would greatly alleviate any stresses they are already feeling by Pat's loss and to launch the great basketball careers of children in the community for years to come. Please help them at this difficult time if you are able.
