Patrick Sullivan's Cancer Beater

Hello.

This is our friend Patrick Sullivan.

I've known Pat and his family since 1992 which is basically his whole life and most of mine.  I'm not alone.  Pat has been a staple in our friendships, community and lives around here for a good long time.  He will continue to be that, for a good long time to come.  But here in the middle there is a hurdle to get over.

In January of 2016 Pat was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

For the past two years Pat and his family have diligently pursed a very regimented and very strict path to health.  Cancer likes sugar, so Pat doesn't eat sugar anymore, or anything containing sugar.  He has also cut out meat and dairy; and nothing processed and no alcohol either.  Your body will treat you well if you treat it well and Patrick has shifted his diet to reflect that.  All organic, all natural and all expensive.

The result of shifting his diet to a ‘perfectly clean’ one, along with some natural tonics provided by the doctors, ended the growth of cancer for 18 months.  The body wants to be well, and Pat’s decision to follow an organic and natural path to health is courageous and has been proven correct.  And while the results have been positive, because this is viewed as an “alternative” treatment, many of the costs have fallen to him and his family.

(Pat bemoans the fact these are "alternative" at all, and wonders why pharmaceutical drugs get to count as "medically viable", but naturally extant cures distilled down into tonics do not.  Then we have a long conversation about the socio-economic engine of America, the special interests in a failing government and the relentless onslaught of greed and hypocrisy in Capitalism...and we find our answer.

Ask him about it sometime.  Really. Do it.)

Now back to the topic at hand.  While the original treatments stopped the cancer for a good long while, it most recently appears that it has started to progress again. Currently there is concern at the possibility of vena cava syndrome.  The vena cava is a major vein that carries blood from the head, neck, upper chest, and arms to the heart.  The spread of cancer can compress this vain, restricting blood flow.

The next step in treatment is to go to a facility in California that does insulin potentiated low dose chemo.  IPT low dose chemo is where they use insulin to carry the chemo drugs to the cancer because, remember, cancer likes sugar.  IPT low dose makes for a more effective use of the chemo so less is needed to be effective against the cancer.  It keeps the healthy parts of the body healthy and attacks with far more precision, just the cancer.

Pat has already gone to Mexico multiple times, California for two weeks and seen a wide variety of doctors.  He is now faced with the prospect of transitioning into the next, more aggressive, phase of treatment; with new and significant expenses.  Those include, but are not limited to, the following:

·        His aforementioned diet

·        Supplements

·        Flights, Hotels and other Transportation to see specialists.

·        Seeing Specialists

·        Treatment (IPT low dose chemo)

·        IV’s

·        All the surprise expenditures that come with life in the fight. i.e. future unknown.

Pat has given to us greatly and now needs us to help him.  It’s time to rally for our friend.

Thank You!
