Pastor John Foster

Shortly after getting off the plane for a Foster family vacation that had been longed planned, Pastor John Foster experienced a hemorrhagic stroke on the right side of his brain. He was immediately transferred via a medical air evacuation flight to a facility that could assess the stroke. John has two different intracranial issues that need immediate treatment. He suffers from a Dural Arteriovenous Fistula (DAVF) and he has pooled blood in the subdural area of his brain causing a hematoma that needs to be treated immediately.

Next steps for John is to get home to San Diego once he is stable enough to be transported and be treated at UCSD which should be tomorrow 4/10 or Wednesday 4/11, barring any other unforeseen circumstances.

Currently, John has neurological deficits in his vision and the physicians will determine more as time passes

Once back in San Diego, he will need a craniotomy procedure that will remove the blood build-up from the subdural area of his brain. He will also need the fistula to be treated so that a bleed doesn’t reoccur. The treatment will be through a resection surgery, embolization or a stereo-tactic radio surgery. We are raising money to support John with medical bills, transportation and living expenses while he is unable to work for at least 3-4 months.
