On September 11th, after what appeared to be a three day stomach bug, my mom rushed my dad to the Emergency Room. He was disoriented and no longer responding to simple commands or questions. They did an immediate CT scan and life-flighted him to Carle Hospital in Champaign, Illinois.

By Thursday they diagnosed him with Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. He had extensive blood clotting through the large arteries in the brain. Friday they did an angiogram to determine that blood flow was still occurring through the veins and developing collateral ways to move. On Saturday, one of the doctors admitted honestly they were not expecting him to live.

If you have ever met my dad, or one of us, you know we believe whole-heartedly in a miracle working God. It's all we've ever known, and we trust whole-heartedly that we serve a big God who is able to do above what we can ask or imagine. We are expecting him to make a full recovery.

Every MRI, MRV, CT has shown no brain damage, and we are extremely grateful. He is awake and showing signs of cognitive function. The doctors have prepared us for a road of therapies, and continued medical procedures.

Our parents have poured their lives out in ministry, through prayer and service. They have given sacrificially of their time and money their whole lives. They do not have health insurance, but Medi-share which is a Christian medical sharing group. There are things that may simply not be covered, and the financial burden we anticipate being significant. In addition, our mom gives music lessons to supplement their income, and will most likely have to take a sabbatical from that for the near future.

So many have asked how they can help, and right now the immediate needs are being taken care of, but every day that daddy is in the hospital the costs add up. We wanted to set up a place where people could give toward what we anticipate will be a large financial burden, and we don't want our mom to have to deal with anything other than being with dad, and walking with him down this road to recovery. If you feel led, please give, share, and most of all pray.

We cannot thank you enough - your thoughts, your prayers, your support. To God be all the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
