Pastor Dave

My Pastor Dave Bates has been a pastor of Galion Unity FWB Church for 27 years. During this time he has spent countless hours visiting members and their families in the hospital, nursing homes, and their homes. It never mattered what time of the day or night, if he was needed he was there. Now it is time to give back to this generous man of God.

In July of 2015 Pastor Dave was diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Cirrhosis of the Liver. This disease is slowly destroying his liver. As a result, he now has to make a weekly trip from Mansfield Ohio to Columbus Ohio (approximately 120 miles round trip). This is to have built up fluids removed from his body. There are fees for this procedure that his insurance won't cover 100%. There are also travel expenses as well.
Pastor Dave is officially on the Liver transplant list. Until a donor becomes available, he will continue to travel for his weekly procedure. He also has occasional hospital admissions to try and keep his numbers where they need to be. Once a transplant is completed, there will be additional expenses his insurance will not cover. This is estimated to be $30,000.00.
