Help Pablo Kick Cancer #pasposse7

Donation protected

The Flores family has put life on hold since March 2017, the month their oldest son was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma.  More bad news hit on June 29th when they discovered that he would have his right leg amputated below the knee to prevent the cancer from spreading.

Pablo Flores, known to his closest friends and family as Pa, has been kicking a soccer ball since he could walk.  As a 4 year Oak Forest varsity player and  member of the Chicago Fire and South Suburban travel teams, he never stopped playing the game he loved until just before his 19th birthday, when a foot inury slowed his pace.  A quick trip to get the increasingly painful injury checked out became life changing when Pablo was diagnosed with an osteosarcoma (malignant bone tumor) of his right heel.

Fast forward four months from surgery and Pa is on a promising road to recovery, but many challenges still lie ahead. Despite endless rehab, living life on crutches and continued  chemo treatments keeping him hospitalized for days at a time, he has a winners attitude.  He is eagerly awaiting the end of treatment, being in remission, and getting his prosthetics.

I set up this page not just for my cousin Pa, but the whole Flores family.  I believe that when a family is fighting for their son's life, they should never have to weigh cost of life saving treatments and valuable equipment in the balance.  Prolonged hospital stays, a major surgery and rehab is just a small part of Pa's life now.  Working to find prosthetics that fit the demands of an athletic 19 year old, so he can once again play soccer and resume college, can be challenging. It is my goal to help lighten the burdens that lie ahead for Pa.

We are determined that Pa WILL play soccer once again, but we need your help in supporting his dreams.  In any way you can, be it monetary, donations, thoughts,  prayers and shares, we appreciate them all.  Let's help Pablo KICK cancer's butt!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
