A Vision Six Years in the Making
We are Steven and Jessica Grahmann. We have been in ministry for over 20 years, serving students, faculty and staff all over the country with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Our home for the past 15 years has been Flagstaff, AZ, where we currently serve as Area Directors discipling young people, developing leaders, and caring for emerging generations of students.
Six years ago God called us to sell our house as an act of faith. He invited us to begin the search for a home in Flagstaff that would not only house us, but provide a space of prayer, retreat, and restoration for others in ministry.
We said yes, and in 2016 we sold our home. We also sold, gave away, or packed up everything we owned. We took a huge risk and and pursued the vision.

Five years, five moves, 70 house viewings and asks, several more decisions to give away everything we had, and dozens of miracles later, we've finally see movement toward the vision.
Introducing: Our New Home and The Flagstaff Retreat Suite
This is our new house! On the week of Jessica's birthday, a couple decided they wanted to sell their home. Not to an investor with an eye on making a killing off of Flagstaff real estate, but to a local family. We wrote the sellers a letter, they read it, and something connected. On Jessica's birthday, we got word that our offer was accepted, for a remarkably reasonable price (for Flagstaff, anyway)!
Everyone we talk to in Flagstaff, no matter what their view on miracles, agrees that this is one. But wait, there's more!
On the south side of the home is an addition with a large bedroom, closet, and bathroom. We will start using it immediately as a ministry retreat suite. In fact, we have already had requests to house furloughing missionaries in the space, as soon as two weeks after our move-in date. Talk about timing!
Like we said, we have given everything (and more) on our journey to this home, but we still want to make this space beautiful for the ministers we will host (all the furniture you see above, including that sweet TV, will be gone). Whether you have been moved by our vision over the years or just now are hearing about it, and would like to be a part of this now that it's a reality, you can be!
We are looking for furniture, small appliances and funds to move forward well (and quickly) with this part of the vision, and in our entire home (it needs significant work). We are overjoyed. We finally have a house to live in, in the city we love and are called to. The boys will finish high school in their own rooms. We will offer a space to ministers who need it as a mountain retreat space. It's been a long, difficult journey. But after being "GrahmanNomads" for six years, we have made a huge step toward the Vision House.
