Parkinsons and Dementia awareness

Donation protected
At the start of May my auntie Zoie died of lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease. I really wanted to raise awareness for both the illnesses for quite a while but wasn’t sure how to go about it so I’m hoping this works!

10 years ago she began with Parkinson’s disease which was already hard enough on everyone watching her movements become more uncontrollable over the years but she would still have a big smile on her face everytime we would see her and was still in the kitchen baking cakes!

Zoie was then diagnosed with Lewy body dementia and it really wasn’t long until she wasn’t her usual self anymore. She became very faint like in a daydream like you wasn’t really there, every so often a little nod to whatever you just said maybe a little smile. I would go and sit with her very often and each time I’d go I could see a difference in her and it really is heartbreaking but you never realise until you watch someone you love go through it!

She would honestly brighten the dullest room and too see her not really responsive anymore like not being able to stand on her own or not being able to feed herself or just simple tasks and not being able to attend her funeral because of COVID19,  really taught me to appreciate the people around me 100x more and never take anyone or anything for granted.

I have put a £500 goal to reach (not expecting too actually raise that much as I understand were in a pandemic) too raise money for these illnesses and will use the money for charities for lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease! Thank you for the read, please share around and donate anything at all as everything counts!
