In aid of Surf2Heal, Co. Cork.

To all our family, friends, relatives, work colleagues, and everyone that knows us - this is actually not a holiday, honestly, it really isnt! We are actually going to be cycling 125K a day for 6 days straight, and we are training the hardest because we are not experienced cyclists but thats no problem to us - a few months of practice and we'll up there with the best of them, or so we've been told!

Would like to thank everyone in advance for the  donations that you're going to give us :)) and tell you a bit about this great group of people that we are raising money for.

Surf2Heal is Ireland's first surf camp for kids with Autism and is entirely funded by donations generated through fundraising efforts of the volunteers who organize the camp. Last year, many children with ASD had the opportunity to participate in this wonderful week of fun filled activity. The benefits to the children are far-reaching, providing them with skills that serve them well for the rest of their lives such as building social skills, confidence, communication, spacial awareness, vestibular regulation, emotional empowerment and an overall sense of accomplishment in mastering an activity that might have seemed beyond their capabilities. But most of all, it’s just fun!

This is achieved by the use of specialist equipment and trained surf crews who generously give up their time to co-ordinate and train as well as participate for a week of camp. Many of the crew use a week of their annual leave, others fly in from abroad to be part of this special week.   

We are training hard to complete this very long cycle, and every time the going gets tough, we think of these children and their parents, and the worries and challenges that they face every single day and we just push on.

Please  do help us meet our commitment to Surf2Heal. We are paying our own way (flights, accodation & registration fees). Every penny raised goes directly to Surf2Heal and is spent on the children's needs.
Money is required now as their season begins.
