Parents Injured In Car Accident

My mother, Elisabeth Summers, is a divorced mother of three and works as a preschool teacher at a private school. She suffers from lupus but has always been there for her family and friends. She's often worked two or more jobs to make sure we made it. My mother and her boyfriend Jerry were in a car accident on Monday, May 22nd, at about 1 AM where they had hit a tree. Jerry was taken by ambulance to the hospital while my mom was taken to a different hospital's trauma center via life flight helicopter. My mother had a compound fracture of her arm, along with a broken wrist, four broken ribs which punctured a small hole in one of her lungs, and a lot of lesser injuries. Jerry broke his L1 vertebra, his hip, his ankle, and had thirteen fractures in his leg which required a steel rod being put in it. Mom was released from the hospital only two days after the surgery to put steel plates in her arm, but Jerry was still in the hospital up until Friday, June 2nd, and then was transferred to a physical therapy rehab facility. My mother just barely made the rent this month and can't return to work until she is strong enough. The doctors are hopeful that she can make a full recovery. She has started outpatient physical therapy but needs 3-5 visits a week for at least the next month We still don't know how well Jerry will do through all of this. Until at least one of them can go back to work, there is zero income. I set the goal of this campaign at $5,000 to help cover my mom's PT (which has a $45 co-pay for every session), transportation to get to her PT, to cover her rent, and to pay for some food until she can get back to work. This is covering her bare essentials, and if this campaign manages to go over $5,000 the rest of the money will go towards some of her medical bills from the accident.
