Paper Plane - A Concept Short Film

Hello family and friends!
As storytellers, Zoe and I take inspiration from the people around us, our experiences, and our memories. Our last project told the story of a young woman in search of meaning after experiencing great loss. With this film, Paper Plane, we aim to explore the role reversal experienced as children grow and parents age. It's a high-concept short film that we hope will be a strong bounce board off of the attention and recognition we've received from our feature film, Grassland. Many of you have supported our journey as creatives, and what we do is only made possible by that support. With Paper Plane specifically, we intend to explore and contemplate the cost and consequences of our strongest supporters, our mothers. Without them, none of what we do would be possible.
Zoe and I have raised some of Paper Plane's budget using personal finances. Now, we are hoping to secure the rest from our friends and family. Anything and everything helps to bring this film to life.
We plan to shoot the film this July or August to have it complete by the early submission deadlines for the 2024 film festivals. We are confident in this story, its meaning to us, and what it will accomplish for our careers as filmmakers.
As we move through the process, we'll share all our updates here so you can stay up to date. For those individuals that contribute $250 or more, you will receive access to all the behind-the-scenes photos and a private copy of the film before its public release. For those who contribute $500 or more, you will receive Executive Producing credit, access to all the behind-the-scenes photos, an invitation to visit the set during our shooting days, and a private copy of the film before its public release.
