#PapaSteve Kinzer Brain Tumor

On March 20, Steve had a seizure and was admitted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Through the testing and exams, the medical staff discovered a brain tumor that will require surgery within the next few days.

The brain is fascinatingly intricate and any level of surgery can have a profound impact immediately on what we would all consider to be the normal tasks in life. The recovery process can be long.

In situations involving brain surgery, the medical costs are extreme and tens of thousands of dollars in bills can accumulate very rapidly. Even with insurance, the cost to a family can be easily in the thousands, but it is always hard to predict.

Often times, the costs that are most challenging for the family are the hotel stays, airline tickets, eating out, parking garages, gas for the family to travel back-and-forth...all the things associated with not being at home and wanting to be together.

As a friend of the family, I wanted to help them through this challenge and enlist the support of the hundreds if not thousands of people who have been impacted by the Kinzer family to have a chance to give back and help during this unexpected chapter.

If you've known Steve for any amount of time, you know that he is a Godly, committed husband, father, grandpa, friend, and the list goes on. He has set an example for many and has set the bar very high in all areas of his life. He's not as intimidating as he looks!

Without reservation, his quiet leadership and stoic demeanor has impacted hundreds of lives and the manner in which he'll tackle this challenge will be equally impressive.

While these situations never make sense, I know that Steve and the rest of the Kinzer family is resting in the hope that is found in the truths of scripture.

So do not fear, for I am with you;  do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Please consider a gift to support them. They have served so many, now it's our chance to serve them.
