<div><strong>Steffen war ein liebevoller Papa und Ehemann, der im April 2023 bei einem tragischen Autounfall ums Leben kam. Er hinterlässt meine Schwester Sabrina und meine Patenkinder Matteo &amp; Samuel im Alter von einem und drei Jahren.</strong>

<div>Am <strong>Tag des Unfalls</strong> ging ich früh morgens an mein Handy, nicht ahnend, dass mir die schwersten Monate meines bisherigen Lebens bevorstanden.

</div>

<div>Meine Schwester am Telefon, schluchzend und kaum in der Lage zu sprechen. Ich kann diesen Moment, die Stunden und Tage danach nicht in Worte fassen.

</div>

<div>Heute, Monate nach dem Unglück, wende ich mich an die Öffentlichkeit, es hat lange gedauert, bis wieder eine gewisse Stabilität in das Leben der drei eingekehrt ist und erst langsam entwickelt sich das Bewusstsein, dass es wirklich ohne Steffen weitergehen muss und dass es ein Abschied für immer ist.

<div>Wie <strong>meine große Schwester Sabrina</strong> seitdem alles meistert ist unglaublich, sie ist so tapfer und strahlt immer noch so viel Liebe aus. Die Last auf ihren Schultern scheint mir oft unerträglich, aber sie kämpft Tag für Tag und ist gleichzeitig eine wunderbare Mama für ihre beiden Jungs. Samuel und Matteo haben bereits ihren ersten Geburtstag ohne Papa gefeiert, Matteo seinen ersten überhaupt. Die Einschulung in den Kindergarten, der erste Laternenumzug - und jetzt steht Weihnachten vor der Tür, das Fest der Familie.

<div>Der 26. Dezember war für uns nicht nur der zweite Weihnachtsfeiertag, sondern auch die Zeit des Jahres, in der wir Steffens Geburtstag feierten. In diesem Jahr wäre er 37 Jahre alt geworden. Umso schmerzlicher wird unser erstes Weihnachtsfest ohne ihn sein.

<div>Mit diesem <strong>Spendenaufruf</strong> möchte ich meiner lieben Schwester ermöglichen, mit weniger Sorgen ins nächste Jahr zu gehen. Die Familie und viele gute Freunde tun alles, damit die drei weiterhin unbeschwert durchs Leben gehen können, aber dieses Weihnachtswunder überreichen zu können, wäre eine außerordentlich große Erleichterung.

<div>Als Mama nach der Elternzeit wieder in der Arbeitswelt Fuß zu fassen ist eine Herausforderung, als alleinerziehende Mama und in diesem Fall auch noch Hauptverdienerin ist es vor allem außerordentlich belastend. Mit diesem Aufruf möchte ich Sabrina mehr <strong>Zeit schenken</strong>, Zeit für sich und Zeit mit ihren Jungs, ohne sich vorerst Sorgen um die laufenden Fixkosten machen zu müssen. Die größte Angst ist in finanzieller Hinsicht, das Heim zu verlieren, das Steffen mit seinen eigenen handwerklichen Fähigkeiten so schön hergerichtet hat.

<div><strong>Ich bedanke mich</strong> auf diesem Wege von ganzem Herzen für die Unterstützung und Liebe, die viele von Euch meiner Familie bereits entgegengebracht haben und bei allen Unterstützern, die hoffentlich noch dazu kommen werden.

<div>Hi I'm Jessica and I'm collecting donations for my big sister and her two small children.

<div>Steffen was a loving dad and husband who died in a tragic car accident in April 2023. He leaves behind my sister Sabrina and my godchildren Matteo &amp; Samuel aged one and three.

<div>On the day of the accident, I answered my mobile phone early in the morning, unaware that I was facing the hardest months of my life so far.

</div>

<div>My sister on the phone, sobbing and barely able to speak. I can't put that moment, the hours and days that followed, into words.

</div>

<div>Today, months after the accident, I am reaching out to the public. It has taken a long time for a certain stability to return to the lives of the three of them and only slowly we are realising that things really have to go on without Steffen and that it is goodbye forever.

<div>The way my big sister Sabrina has coped with everything since then is incredible, she is so brave and still spreads so much love. The weight on her shoulders often seems unbearable to me, but she fights day after day and is also a wonderful mum to her two boys. Samuel and Matteo have already celebrated their first birthday without daddy, Matteo his first ever. Starting kindergarten, the first lantern parade - and now Christmas is just around the corner, the time for family celebrations.

</div>

<div>For us, 26 December was not only Boxing Day, but also the time of year when we celebrated Steffen's birthday. He would have been 37 years old this year. Our first Christmas without him will be all the more painful.

</div>

<div>With this appeal for donations, I would like to enable my dear sister to go into the next year with fewer worries. The family and many good friends are doing everything they can to ensure that the three of them can continue to go through life carefree, but being able to hand over this Christmas miracle would be an extraordinary relief.

</div>

<div>Getting back into the world of work as a mum after parental leave is a challenge, but as a single mum and in this case also the main provider, it is above all extremely stressful. With this appeal, I would like to give Sabrina more time, time for herself and time with her boys, without having to worry about the ongoing running costs for the time being. The biggest fear from a financial point of view is losing the home that Steffen has renovated so beautifully with his own craftsmanship.
