Help Pamela’s battle against Leukemia

Pamela Alfaro is a 29-year-old Peruvian, currently suffering from Leukemia, who is waiting to have a bone marrow transplant needing your help for medical expenses.

It is no secret that seeing the glass half full not only makes you happier but is also the best recipe to tackle challenges when times are tough. And for Pamela, this optimism and positive attitude have always been relatively easy to achieve while working as a lawyer in Lima, Peru.

In May 2020, amidst Covid-19 Pandemic, she was diagnosed with Leukemia and began her treatment with chemotherapy to combat the disease. It has been one year since she started with chemotherapy, but unfortunately, time and again, Leukemia returns despite several attempts to keep the carcinogenic cells down to the minimum.

With the help of her loving family and friends, she went through compatibility tests for a marrow transplant from her brother. The results came back positive and strong as Pamela. She is 100% compatible with her brother for a marrow transplant. However, in March 2021, regardless of procedures and medications, her condition aggravated, and she needs to undergo more chemotherapies that will help her from relapsing.

Regardless of her condition, Pame, as we affectionally call her, has not given up and is ready to receive new chemotherapy to face her situation and hopefully kiss it goodbye. But she is now facing economic problems to pay for the more potent treatments her doctors recommend for her to meet the marrow transplant’s health expectations. The cost of the treatments is as high as $130,000, an amount that her family can’t confront given that the Insurance coverage is maxed out.

For this reason, we appeal to your great heart to help Pame face the biggest challenge of her life. This fundraiser has a high goal to cover her medical expenses by April 30th, but we believe that we can beat the numbers if we join together to help this cause. Her family and friends will greatly appreciate any kind donation to help Pame focus on her recovery so that she can go back enjoying life and spreading her contagious positiveness.

Ayuda a Pamela en la batalla contra la Leucemia

Pamela Alfaro es una peruana de 29 años, diagnosticada con Leucemia, que está a la espera de un trasplante de médula ósea y hoy necesita nuestra ayuda para poder afrontar los gastos médicos.

No es ningún secreto que ver el vaso medio lleno no solo te hace más feliz, sino que también es la mejor receta para afrontar los desafíos en tiempos difíciles. Y para Pamela, este optimismo y actitud positiva siempre ha sido relativamente fácil de lograr mientras trabajaba como abogada en Lima, Perú.

En mayo de 2020, en medio de la pandemia Covid-19, le diagnosticaron leucemia y comenzó su tratamiento con quimioterapia para combatir la enfermedad. Ha pasado un año desde que comenzó con los tratamientos de quimioterapia, pero desafortunadamente, una y otra vez, la Leucemia regresa a pesar de varios intentos de mantener las células cancerígenas al mínimo.

Con la ayuda de su querida familia y amigos, pasó por pruebas de compatibilidad para un trasplante de médula de su hermano. Los resultados volvieron positivos y fuertes como Pamela. Ella es 100% compatible con su hermano para un trasplante de médula. Sin embargo, en marzo de 2021, independientemente de los procedimientos y medicamentos, su condición se agravó y necesita someterse a más sesiones de quimioterapias que la ayudarán a no recaer en la Leucemia.

Pame, como la llamamos cariñosamente, no se ha rendido y está dispuesta a recibir una nueva quimioterapia para afrontar su situación y con suerte despedirla por completo. Pero ahora enfrenta problemas económicos para pagar los tratamientos más potentes que le recomiendan sus médicos para cumplir con las expectativas de salud del trasplante de médula. El costo de los tratamientos es alto, $130,000 para el 30 de abril, una cantidad que su familia no puede enfrentar dado que la cobertura del seguro está al máximo.

Por esta razón, apelamos a su gran corazón para ayudar a Pame a enfrentar el mayor desafío de su vida. Esta recaudación de fondos tiene un objetivo alto para cubrir sus gastos médicos, pero creemos que podemos superar los números si nos unimos para ayudar a esta causa. Su familia y amigos agradecerán enormemente cualquier donación que ayude a Pame a concentrarse en su recuperación para que pueda volver a disfrutar de la vida y difundir su contagiosa positividad.
