My dear friend Pam Balster needs your help.
Here is a word from her family.
On August 19 our mom, community leader, and friend to many was diagnosed with aggressive acute myeloid leukemia. This news sent a shockwave through her family and friends. Her service to many will have a long-lasting impact that will never be forgotten. Quickly after diagnosis, she was sent to the University Washington Medical Center to start treatment immediately. She underwent one round of chemotherapy and in a short time the doctors discovered several secondary complications. Due to these complications, it became evident that our loving mother would not survive this illness. She is now at home in Fairbanks, in the care of hospice and spending time with her family and friends.
We are asking you today to help our mom, Pam through the financial burden of this diagnosis. She does not have medical insurance. Please help relieve the burden of medical bills and the anxiety that the lack of insurance creates for her husband of 42 years, Bob.
In her conversations, in recent days, she has shared her wisdom. Even in a time of great pain and uncertainty, our mother encouraged others and shared her faith. “I saw hearts changed by just saying, ‘God bless you.’ I saw hope in just being kind.” She wants every person to know that they have value and in knowing that, they can do what they are called to do best.
