Pam Garfield Smith Memorial Fund

Donate today to make Pam's Park a reality. Pam Garfield Smith was a teacher in Iron County for 30 years. Most of those years were spent at Fiddlers Elementary, which is located on the north end of Cedar City, teaching fourth grade. She was truly a master teacher helping each child feel like her personal favorite. She ran a tight ship but used her storytelling abilities to teach life lessons to her students that will stay with them for a lifetime. Pam passed away on May 31, 2022, after a very long battle with breast cancer. She showed grit and determination to each student as she valiantly battled this disease.

Often our society names parks after the wealthy, politicians or business owners, but a park named for a beloved teacher is a way to honor an everyday hero. Her daughter said it best. "It would make my mom so happy to know something so great is happening for the families of North Cedar City!"

With the money earned through this campaign, we will petition Cedar City for the naming rights to the park itself or, at the very least, a part of the park. The Cedar City Council will make the final decisions regarding the park and its name.
