Palmer Chickens

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the Palmer Chicken Coop, of course!

We established our coop in late summer 2020, and since then we’ve had a lot of fun and learned a LOT about chickens. Our four hens - Ginger, Martha Washinghen, xxx, xxx - have been hunkered down all winter, and like the rest of us, are eagerly awaiting Spring. While the ladies have been busy laying eggs and free-ranging when possible, we have been busy behind the scenes planning for coop improvements!

Please consider donating to our spring Chicken Coop Fundraising Campaign. We are launching this campaign to support improvements to the coop and the surrounding space, including things like:

--support of classroom connections and activities

--expansion of the flock 

--installation of an additional small coop structure to be used to separate the chickens when needed, for things like introducing additional hens or medical care

--beautification of the space, possibly through installation of benches and a pathway 

The coop acts as a learning hub for all of our Palmer students as well as the neighborhood, and we are always looking for additional ways to share our coop experience with the community. Stop by to see the ladies anytime!
