Palisades Fire: Support Rumi, invaluable aide for Pali Elem

Rumi Mayeda has worked as an instructional assistant at Palisades Charter Elementary for over 20 years. She also lives in the Palisades. In addition to losing her place of work, she has lost her family home in the fires. The amount of loss is unimaginable.

Although Rumi has primarily supported 4th grade for over the last decade, she knows the names of all of the students at our school. She's skilled with conflict resolution on the yard, invaluable in supporting students in small group and 1-on-1, and really like having a second teacher in our classrooms. She is wildly committed to Pali.

Rumi would also never ask for help. That is why we are asking on her behalf.

I'm Loan Panza, a 4th grade teacher at Palisades Charter Elementary. Alongside Christy Haga, 4th grade teacher; Nynette Marceth, 4th grade teacher; and Madeleine Walker, 5th grade teacher; we ask for your help to relieve the financial burden that Rumi is now experiencing. Not only is Rumi a colleague, but she is family to all of us. All donations will go directly to Rumi as she works to rebuild her life.
