Palestinian medical student travel to Oxford for training

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Alma and I am living in Oxford, United Kingdom. With the support of local friends, I am making this campaign on behalf of my friend from Jenin, Palestine, who would like to be unnamed. I first met my friend last year, during his visit to Oxford for summer school. He is now planning to return for further professional training, but requires your kind support.

The funds raised in this campaign will be sent directly to him, as soon as possible.

Here is his message:

I am a fifth-year medical student from Jenin, Palestine. I am an ambitious student who strives for everything new and beneficial to humanity. I employ all the available capabilities to develop and advance to the best. We in Palestine, specifically in Jenin, are experiencing many challenges in the medical field and medical education. As a diligent and active medical student with high academic grades, I was recently accepted to training on an elective course for two months at John Radcliffe Hospital in the Department of Internal Medicine.

However, sometimes things do not go as you want. I fought and did everything I could to join and learn from a well-known and famous hospital like this. The costs of travel, flights, and personal expenses are very expensive. I will not hide anything from you, we in Palestine are experiencing difficult economic conditions due to the harassment and challenges by the occupation. However, my ambitions are high, my hopes are strong, and my determination is strong. I will do what I can and more in order not to waste this opportunity that does not repeat itself. This opportunity opens up many future opportunities for me and enables me to achieve my dream and be accepted into the specialty of internal medicine.

I am now at the end of my fifth year of study. During my fourth and fifth years, I have trained in several hospitals in the West Bank. I found that our medical sector needs doctors specialising in internal medicine, and from here the idea was implanted in my mind that I would specialise in internal medicine in order to help my people.

My two-month training at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford will greatly increase my chances of being accepted to specialise in internal medicine in the future, and it will also be the cornerstone of my academic career. I hope that my ambition and hopes will not be shattered because of the difficult economic situation we are living in Palestine. I have full hope in you and I hope that you will help me and make my dream come true.

I will be very grateful to anyone who helps me. Your help and support will make the dream of a young Palestinian come true, which is to become a skilled doctor and help his people in Palestine.

By supporting me through GoFundMe, you are not only helping me attend the elective, but also helping to build a community of competent doctors who have the skills necessary to deal with injuries caused by the occupation here in Palestine.

Thank you all for your help, your help will make a huge difference, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, I am very grateful.
