Paisleys Road to Recovery ❤️

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Corinna Irwin and I’ve decided to start this GoFundMe for Paisley Schidler and her family to help with medical expenses/family expenses while Paisley is receiving treatment at Riley Childrens Hospital. *Full story below*

All proceeds will be given to Kayla (Schidler) Lagenour.

Saturday, November 27th - Paisley had a sour stomach all day but no other symptoms.

Sunday, November 28th - vomiting and lethargy set in, however the stomach bug is going around along with influenza.

Monday, November 29th - Vomiting continues. Pais has still refused to eat or drink really since Sunday due to lack of appetite and unable to keep anything down. Pais had an average fever at this point to not cause alarm or suspect it was something else.

Tuesday, November 30th - Same symptoms continue until a fever of almost 104 spikes and Paisley is talking gibberish. Couldn’t walk or talk even. *At one point staring into Kayla’s camera on a Snapchat to me, she was asking about ice crystals then retracting that statement… (hallucinations).* Kayla took her to our local ER. Originally wanting to go to IU Health Bedford or Bloomington but the wait time (HOURS) was unrealistic for a sick child. She took her to St. Vincent Dunn ER in Bedford, IN. They ran a few tests (Flu A & B, Strep, Covid, and did X-rays for pneumonia). All tests came back NEGATIVE but instead of the Doctors pushing for the cause of a hallucinating/lethargic/lifeless 7 year old, they assumed it was viral and gave her a prescription of Zofran and Ibuprofen suppositories then sent home for discharge.

Poor Kayla - exhausted from her daughter being so ill was optimistic that the ER knew what they were talking about… she got her meds from the pharmacy in hopes she’ll make improvement.

Improvement did not happen. Kayla was able to get Paisley into an emergency pediatric after hours appt at Southern Indiana Riley Physicians in Bedford. Dr Hanson assessed her, listened to Kaylas report of Paisleys symptoms, ran some tests.  Pais only responded mentally to half of them - which was his red flag of concern - made some consult calls and shipped them off to Bloomington IU ER Thursday night (12/2). Once at Bloomington ER, Kayla physically carried Paisley into the ER (still so weak and lifeless she cannot walk)… Bloomington staff performed a spinal tap for Meningitis and did a CT scan shortly before 9pm. By 1130pm on 12/2 - Kayla sent me a message that bacterial meningitis has been confirmed and they’re being transferred to Indianapolis Riley Pediatric ICU via helicopter.

I am creating this GoFundMe to help with medical expenses, food/hotels if needed and to help with their personal bills while Kayla has been off and continues to be by Paisleys bedside. It’s undetermined her length of stay at this time.

Message to Kayla while you’re reading this:
We’ve been best friends for over 11 years, I love you dearly and love Paisley as if she were my own. God is watching over her and the prayers continue to flood in. Stay strong and know you have such an overwhelming amount of support for anything you may need.

P.S. - Tell my girl a baby yoda will be waiting for her.
