Painting Bavaria and Helping the Refugees

I have been to Bavaria Germany twice in the past year and have fallen in love with the people, the landscape and the culture.  I have been making drawings and paintings as a way to connect and learn about this  amazing country in the most direct way.I know how, by making art. I have filled a large sketchbook with drawings and notes. I have also made a dozen paintings working at my easel on the streets of Landshut Bavaria. In doing so I have had the opportunity to meet many German people as well as some refugees who have fled to Germany  having been forced from their own countries.  The situation with the refugees has tugged at my heart both times during my previous two stays. This time I want to take an affirmative action towards bringing some measure of relief to these very vulnerable and struggling people.
My goal is to raise $5000 with this gofundme campaign and give half of the funds raised to the Bethany Christian Services  based right here in Grand Rapids Michigan. They have a very successful refugee relief program which has been doing great things now for several years. The other half of the money raised with go towards my travel expenses and art materials for a one month stay in Germany of more drawing and painting.
It would mean a great deal to me to have your support with this years project to continue my work in Germany and help the refugees at the same time.37626146_1552103415800209_r.jpeg
