hi! Im Jessica Rambo. I am a Marine Corps Veteran and an Artist. I know, I know! How the heck did that happen!? Let me tell you!
I spent 10 years in the Marine Corps as a Combat Camera(wo)man! I started out being a lithographer, a visual artist. Then I figured out the magical Adobe programs likes photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. That made me a Marine, and a graphic designer. in the military Graphic Designers don't get to travel much... so guess what? I picked up a Camera and got to travel the world and document the amazing stories of Military members and document these men and women that don’t think the things they do are interesting and important, but they are. The viewer is looking to hear about these stories; these stories are emotional, motivational, and inspirational.
I was medically separated from the Marine Corps after a really bad car accident, a brain injury and some broken hips. I was lost and confused. After giving the Marine Corps 10 years of my life, what's a girl to do?!
I went to Art school!
I am currently an Art education Major with a concentration in new media and design. With my skills I have have acquired in school, I want to bring the arts to the veteran community. Not only did art save me from myself and all the demons I was dealing with, but it has given me a skill that I can pass on to others.
Painted Buffalo Art studio is a mobile art studio ran out of my converted Blue Bird School bus, Hudson. Currently I am under construction turning a school bus into a tiny house for my tribe and a mobile art studio to go across the country provided art classes in the Veteran community. With your financial contribution I will be continuing the conversion of the art studio, be able to provide free art supplies to the veterans that take classes, and travel to bring art to different communities across the country.
Veteran Artists are sprinkled across the country. We are out there! With the help of all of you, I would bring Veteran Artists across the country together in their communities to provide them with the skills of different mediums of visual arts that they can use in their own communities, lives, and businesses to succeed.
Classes that Painted Buffalo would be able to provide include water coloring, painting, 2-drawing, 3-drawing, website design, graphic design, sculpture, welding, metal casting, ceramics, pottery, print making, graphic design, and wood working.
Thank you for reading about Painted Buffalo Studio, and your contribution to the Veteran Artist community.
