Hi, my name is Katye and I am fundraising for Prism Studios in order to help fund our weekly Community Paint night with the Urbana IMC. While we consistently work to obtain grants to fund this project, every dollar counts when in between grant cycles.

Prism Studios is an arts initiative with a focus on inclusion, diversity, and creativity. We believe that art is integral to the human experience and as such must be made accessible to everyone regardless of their experience level or ability to pay. With the goal of building a community of artists, we work to provide facilities, equipment, and guidance to new and experienced artists.

Prism Studios would like to offer a once a week program at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center (IMC). This program, called Paint @ Your Pace, would be free and open to the community. Paint @ Your Pace is a relaxed and self-guided painting experience designed for artists of all experience levels to explore their creativity at their own rhythm. Whether a seasoned artist or picking up a brush for the first time, this offering will provide the space and materials needed for the members of our community to create art without the pressure of a class environment.
