Dear Family,
As you know, Paige has been battling depression and post-partum obsessive compulsive disorder (PPOCD). She has been under treatment for the better part of a year for the depression and since Jamie’s birth for the OCD. Paige and Tammy were very fortunate to find both a psychiatrist and a counselor who treat the PPOCD. It is a very real condition and the psychiatrist located a program geared specifically towards mothers with this condition. The program is designed with the idea of keeping mothers and babies together during treatment, something that was not possible when Paige spent a week in a general psychiatric facility last month. This program is located in Providence, RI, and Paige was accepted into the program, which begins for her on Monday, September 10th. Tammy and Jamie will be accompanying her and they all will fly out late Saturday night on a red-eye. They all will be staying in the nearby Ronald McDonald House at the very low cost of $10 per day. At minimum, the program runs five days a week (M-F) for two weeks, but it could extend to four weeks. For more information about the program: Women & Infants
For two weeks, the program cost for them out-of-pocket will be $2,250. The flight to Boston has been covered. They will still incur expenses for car rental, return flight, other travel expenses, COBRA insurance, food and incidentals, as well as supplies for Jamie (e.g., diapers, wipes, etc.). We have estimated a total cost of $7,266.
