WHO: Hi, I'm Dynahlee Star Padilla. I attend SUNY New Paltz, and am a Journalism major and Spanish minor. I love writing poetry and reading free-verse novels, as well as creating personal video projects.
WHAT: I am planning to study abroad, and have created this campaign in an effort to raise funds for this upcoming trip and entire move.
WHERE: Madrid, Spain *Specifically at UC3M, La Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
WHEN: During the spring semester of 2018. * I'll be there from late January to early June studying Spanish, exploring the city, and practicing my language skills.
WHY: I want to study abroad in Madrid because I truly want to immerse myself in a Spanish-speaking country. I've studied Spanish for 6 years and want to put my skills to the test. Moreover, I want to tap into the Spanish roots of my family. Lastly, it will be a wonderful opportunity for my career as a multifaceted journalist.
HOW: With the love and support from family and friends, I'll be able to raise the money I need to help cover the costs of travel from New York to Madrid, my housing, textbooks for class, and meals for my 5-month adventure at another university in a whole different country.
