September 20, 2018 was a day that brought devastation to the home of Hilda, Anna and Paco--and to those who know and love them. Paco passed away suddenly and shockingly following 3 months of treatment for Tonsil Cancer. His initial prognosis was very good and there was no reason to believe he wouldn't beat the cancer. In fact, his tumor had responded and he was done with treatment. He was in pain and discomfort from the treatment--which prevented him from swallowing--but he was in good spirits and looking forward to enjoying life again with Anna and Hilda!
On Wednesday, September 19, Paco was admitted to the hospital for debilitating pain, nausea and difficulty with the feeding tube. While in the hospital receiving care, he had a pulmonary embolism which caused a cardiac arrest. As of 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, after trying multiple avenues of resuscitation, Paco died.
Paco was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1946. He was a loving husband and devoted father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Paco was adored by all who knew him.
His death leaves Anna without her beloved father and Hilda without her cherished partner in life, on whom she relied for so much.
We who love them have come together to create this gofundme page in order to provide financial support, and relieve Hilda of some of the burden she will be facing with the soaring hospital and medical bills, and to help support Anna's education.
