Pa houa's Road to Recovery
If you know Pa Houa she is the most caring and loving individual you will ever meet. She is someone you can call upon and she would be there without hesitation.
Recently Pa Houa suffered from vertebral artery dissection and multiple stroke due to the dissection. She was admitted into a hospital after several weeks of having major migraines. She first went for a check up but doctors didn't say much except that maybe it was just a muscle spasm. At 3am on August 21st Pa Houa was awakened by pain to her head and started experiencing vision loss, weakness in her body and shortness of breathe, so her husband, Charlie called 911 and she was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Pa Houa was seen in the ER and discharged by doctors with a severe migraine. It wasn't until later around 8pm that same day after being discharged she started feeling weakness on her right side of her body. It was completely numb and her left side of the face started drooping. Charlie then rushed her back to a different hospital ER. After many hours of waiting and an hour MRI/MRA scan, it was discovered that she had a vertebral artery dissection which caused her to have multiple strokes. One in the middle on the lower back of her head which caused speech impairment and the second one on the left side of her head causing her to lose her touch sensation. Pa Houa was discharged after a few days in the hospital. She is now receiving outpatient occupational, physical and speech therapy weekly.
Pa Houa is the main financial provider of her family since her husband Charlie's diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. Due to her strokes, she hasn't been able to work and will not be able to work for a while. She has a daughter in college and four loving boys under the age of 9, with one being just a newborn.
