My beautiful sister, Lisa was diagnosed in March 2018 with Stage 4 ALK Positive Lung Cancer. She never smoked a day in her life. The cancer was caused by a mutated gene.
It all started with a persistent cough that wouldn't go away. At first the doctors thought she had pneumonia, but we suddenly found out that it was lung cancer that had spread to her brain, spine, liver and adrenals.
She recently has gone through brain radiation and the cancer on her liver and spine has spread. She also has pneumonia as well and is in a lot of pain. She will soon be starting a new chemo and immunotherapy treatment that will increase her fatigue, but will hopefully put her into remission.
Lisa is an amazing stay at home mother to two young girls. She has an enormous faith in God and has always gone out of her way to help others in need.
The medical bills are piling up due to her numerous hospital stays, medication and all of the scans. Her husband is trying to hold everything together by working, caring for the kids and supporting Lisa through all of this. It has been so hard on the entire family.
