saving zoe Hi everyone,you may have noticed that i have been somewhat absent this last half year and haven't posted any great zoe pics.The reason for that is that besides having a difficult year dealing with our son jesses death from the H1N1 virus,and helping zoes aunt get guardianship(with promises made that our rights as grandparents and zoes only contacts with her dads side of the family would always be honored),as soon as aunt and her new husband got "possesion" of zoe last september they immediately stopped any overnight visits without any explanation,we had only been asking for once a month overnights,then they began to make it difficult to visit her at their house at a time when both janine and i could visit together,we were able to get some short weekend day visits 1 or 2 times a month from november thru january,although they would not share her time on thanksgiving,christmas or any of the holidays on which we had agreed to share her time,thus denying jesses extended family(zoes aunts,uncles,great aunts and uncles,great grandma,her grandma cindy,etc. the ability to see her on those few times a year when we are all gathered in one place).Needless to say these first holidays without jesse were a very sad time for janine and i and the whole family,without even having zoe to shine her bright light on us.They finally banned us from seeing her altogether in january saying that they can not get along with me due to my questioning of their visitation policies,and refuse any communication from me(they will communicate thru janine but won't let her see zoe).I thought that if i gave them some time they would come around for zoes sake,but recently on zoes birthday i begged them to let us(or even just janine)come over to give her a birthday present and recieved a text back saying only that any communication in any form from me,text,email,phone,letters,etc. remains entirely unwelcome,so i have had to accept the fact that legal action is the only option available to us.Unfortunately this is not considered a family law matter but a probate action,so a lawyer is necessary to go in front of a judge,especially since they have their own attorney.We have since spoken to an attorney,i have to sign paperwork and come up with a $3500.00 retainer,which covers the minimum amount of time he will have to put in(10 hrs),with the maximum being possibly $7000.00(20 hrs)if necessary.I have never had to ask for money this way before,we have always made our own way,but our hearts are broken and we are desperate,i fear that if we don't see zoe soon she may forget our side of the family altogether,we need to hold her and tell her we love her and keep her daddy alive in her heart.So if anyone can help,we would be eternally grateful,any money not used for the attorney will be put in the savings account we have been keeping for zoe for the last 5 years.If we manage to get this started i will keep everyone informed of progress of the case and welcome any private inquiries.THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU
